Alien, mother-son relationship, psychiatry, flying machine
The dream of flying is one of the oldest dreams and has always inspired the imaginations of mankind. And depending on the degree of obsession drives this desire sometimes strange flowers. Thus recently, Billy Bob Thornton in The Astronaut Farmer one of those freaks, who is busily working against all odds, in a space rocket. Also in Hardi storm Film Not such a copy of this star is to visit, but here the case is somewhat different and the desire to rise in the universe, has a different, more serious, pathological cause. Arnold (Max Riemelt) is convinced since childhood to be an alien, the wait just to the right constellation of stars needs to finally return to his extraterrestrial homeland. Of course, this belief in a tragic background, because when Arnold was a child, his father jumped off a cliff and was never found, so that the traumatized boy in question was only one solution: His father was not of this world and this is way back to his home planet. To be prepared for the launch into space tinkering, Arnold diligently to find a bizarre flying machine, but when he and endangers others solid in a crash landing, are his true caring mother Ida (Katja Riemann) and their admirers to let the family physician Emil (Armin Rohde), not help, instruct the young man to a mental hospital. There, the young doctor takes care of Wanda (Anneke Kim Sarnau) to the equally remarkable how charming fellow, and threatens soon to succumb to his charm. And there is not actually some evidence to suggest that Arnold has in fact had amazing abilities? Wanda’s scientific world view gets more and more to sway … Winner of the Volkswagen Script Award 2007 goes Hardi storm not of this planet with some early praise in the running for the audience’s favor, but the expectations of the film can meet only in part. On the plus side can be won with certainty the summer enchanted atmosphere, the film presents with a light hand and the best fit to the somewhat fanciful story. Bathed in golden light, the wonderful story about an outsider developed a warm heart, in which one enters an all too readily to the oblique premise of the film and how the doctor Wanda always gets into doubt whether truth in the myth of aliens not be something could. However, even that did not conceal, the film loses its weird charm with increasing time and becomes more and more a pretty easy knit romantic comedy as we know it dozens of times from Germany. In addition, the film does not just good, that besides the Liebesirrungen and tribulations of Arnold and Wanda, and Ida and Emil always more Paarkonstellationen be brought into the picture. This unraveling of the film a little, lose momentum, to eventually end up in very shallow waters, perhaps even a little may be because Max Riemelt not know how to persuade in any situation – just as, moreover, Katja Riemann. The bottom line is not from this planet a pleasant summer story with some weaknesses to an outsider, and love, in principle, a similar situation such as Lars and the Real Girl / Lars and the Real Girl, although that knows how to convince a total of more.
