               Genre: Thriller, Horror
New York, Subway, bachelor party, cannibalism
With Stag Night there is again a film that civilized city dwellers in their hands thoroughly degenerate cannibals driving. The game takes place in the woods but not from any remote stretch of land. is the heart of the New York subway is in Peter A. Dowling violently to the point. The producer and co-author of Flight Plan in his directing debut of understated tension holds little surprised, actually. But apparently Dowling just wanted to really hit the big shit, for Stag Night is bloody, slimy, grim and unfortunately quite brain dead. Quickly following a wisdom that comes to mind: Less would have been more … Stag Night stands for bachelor parties, and such a host, the four pals Tony, Karl, Mike and Joe. But after a brawl in strip club, the party is over quickly. In the last subway take the drunk guys on Brita and Claire. They flirt and dredges up Brita annoyed her pepper spray takes out. At the next stop somehow all end up on the platform – and before you know it, the railway is also more even. Of course, one separates himself (as the average American had never seen a horror movie). While Claire rummacht with the greasy Joe, the other witness, as a guard of three scruffy figures carved up. Yet while the killers are aware of the involuntary witness! There follows a breathless chase through the dark catacombs of the New York subway … Koch Media is actually known for sophisticated and good home entertainment. But with Stag Night themselves no one has done great favor. Of course, the carnage has with persecution, battles, lots of blood and severed body parts. But the whole thing is so unkind and involuntarily presents funny that you begin soon to make way for something else. The great location and facilities (the always disturbing scenes not even nodding) makes for pleasant indeed creepy atmosphere. But quickly ruin an unnecessarily exaggerated sound effects in the fun. For example, makes a stab such a ridiculous matschendens noise that you just shakes his head. Also takes the film (for such excesses in staging and sound) much too seriously. This would be much less have been more. Much more. It’s just not in the nature of the production. Even the unsympathetic characters do the rest to the viewer a certain indifference to evoke. The Descent meets Wrong Turn and Creep – in the subway. Sounds better now than it is. (Rollo Tomasi)

Gardens of the Night

After the very shrill and very excited competition entry Juliabildet Damian Harris’ Gardens of the Night violent film, as it were, the antithesis of the robbers pistol alkoholgeschwängerten by Erick Zonca. Very quiet and reserved, in many moments filled with tenderness Harris relies entirely on the strength of its history, to be – certainly very difficult – and subject to its protagonist. The film tells the story of the seven-Whitehead Leslie (Ryan Simpkins), who one day will be kidnapped by two men and detained
