David Mackenzie – biography and filmography

  David Mackenzie, born on 10 May 1966 in Corbridge, Scotland, began his career as a director with the production of several successful short films for British television, including Marcie’s Dowry, which was shown in 2001 in Cannes. His first feature film he made in 2002 with the experimental road movie The Last Great Wilderness, which also celebrated at the Edinburgh International Film Festival world premiere.

  David Kross was born on 4 July 1990 in Bargteheide near Hamburg, was born. At the age of 12 he already played in the TV movie Help, I’m a Boy (1992).

This was followed by other smaller television roles, before it of Detlev Buck for his movie Tough Enough (2006) was discovered. After a long search and several auditions Buck chose him for the lead role of Michael Polischka. The film won several awards, including three Lolas, the German Film Prize and the FIPRESCI at the Berlinale 2006.
