He has sorely needed. Bruce Willis takes the success, which he ran years behind and almost only with his Die Hard movies is slow. The Surrogates, the large-awaited sci-fi hit with him in the lead role, so nasty in the movie flopped, then also not his fault. Bruce is, as so often the dog pummeled hard core, which must compete with all others. But director Jonathan Mostow of Surrogates (Terminator 3) has one big problem: He seems incomplete, inconsistent and will not meet its interesting topic. Whether this is the script or the final cut – is this Surrogates version seems to be only a torso. Nevertheless, the sci-fi action spectacle maintains good enough to warrant a DVD evening. In the future, no people walking through the world do more, work or drive a car. In the future, controls the man an avatar (a robot torso), it is similar to a hair, from home and must thus not at all move from the apartment. are killed as a night two of the avatars (here Surrogates) in a side street, while also die their respective coordinators, is the FBI’s agent Tom Greer (Bruce Willis) and Jennifer Peters (Radha Mitchell) to the case. The first killings since tens of years threaten to topple the system, so quick explanation is needed. When the agents discover that one of the dead is the son of the Surrogates Canter inventor (James Cromwell), the case is a political issue. The trail leads to a group that is denied, the Surrogates technique and by a prophet (Ving Rhames) cited. Greer is forced for the first time in years, to act without surrogates and suddenly sees the world through different eyes, consisting of his own … The team of authors John Brancato and Michael Ferris has apparently been little effort to wrest the issue with Mostow something special. The marriage of silted Agent Greer and his apathetic wife is still considered most closely, while many other interesting approaches are only sketched. The people vegetate in front of him and carry out any activity via surrogates. How is this happening, the dangers lie and what’s behind it – all given away. The impression that remains most clearly in the previous reviewers, is that the movie was made easier by an average of all intermediate and gray tones to achieve a mass-compatible, fast-paced and kurzzweiliges possible result. What about just 80 minutes screen time have succeeded more or less. Surrogates is despite (or perhaps because of) the shortcomings mentioned staged a taut action film, which is entirely focused on his conspiracy idea and its resolution and it is only good. The overarching theme that you can act for themselves robot was indeed implemented in the Cameron-spectacle Avatar – Pandora’s departure for penetrating in gamers and consistent, yet Surrogates a must attend event for Bruce Willis and sci-fi fans. We can only hope that one day the complete film version to see. (Renatus Töpke)
