Stefan Ruzowitzky – filmography and biography

  Stefan Ruzowitzky was born on 25 Born in Vienna in December 1961. He studied theater and history. Besides, he attended seminars at prestigious film camera crews and also worked on radio drama and theater projects.

In 1987, he realized as a director and author of documentaries, features and short films for the Austrian television ORF. At the same time he shot music videos for numerous pop stars such as The Scorpions, The Prince and ‘N Sync.

1996 Stefan Ruzowitzky with tempo turned his first feature film. Pace was just as dynamic as laconic story with which he captured the feelings of the rave generation. Two years later, the award-winning The Siebtelbauern followed by an early 20th Century settled, critical home movie.

2000 Ruzowitzky turned to the genre film: with anatomy, with its seat in the medical milieu horror thriller, he presented one of the popular successes of the year. A year later the spy comedy Queen’s Men (2001). 2003 Ruzowitzky turned the sequel Anatomie 2, which, however, the success of the first part could not be repeated.

With The Counterfeiters volunteered Ruzowitzky back 2007th The film celebrated its world premiere at the Berlinale pplication comp.
