    The exploits of Robin Hood are often told, well known and an integral part of our modern mythology. They are regarded as shining example of adventure and the struggle for justice, when Robin and his men announce the corrupt machinations of Nottingham in the fight and lead a rebellion against the crown that will change the power structure of their world forever. And if this is Robin now sees as a thief or a hero, he is the eternal symbol of the freedom of his people.

After the death of King Richard leaves the gifted archer Robin (Russell Crowe) to war against the French behind him and returns to England, in a corruption and a brutal embattled Sheriff of Nottingham. He quickly falls in love with the strong-willed widow, Lady Marion (Cate Blanchett), which is at first, however, very skeptical about him and his motives. Not least in order to win her hand, he assembled a troupe of like-minded and together with his men, he makes a dash to the sheriff by his greedy bill, making hunting on the rich, and he distributed the spoils to the poor.
