The worst sex in the world

This is a popular figure and Roger Greenberg (Ben Stiller) is now not straight. The forty ex-musicians just come from a psychiatric hospital and includes the house of his brother Philip, to guard during the period of the leave of the dear relative’s house and the shepherd by the name Mahler. Otherwise, this misanthropic distributes the time to write letters of complaint to all sorts of nonsense companies and institutions and echauffieren over trivialities such as non-functioning buttons on airplanes and other nonsense too. In this Roger Trott could go on forever like this, who are not as Florence (Greta Gerwig) would be the personal assistant to his brother that cares for during the absence of her boss at his estate. In a very clumsy way, these two outsiders are gradually getting closer, especially since Roger can not drive (and America), so he has to take again the service from Florence to complete. What was with much good will could interpret as an element of surprise still is in the course of the film, however hard a test of patience, especially in the course of history Florence almost completely disappeared from sight, to be built again rather clumsy in the story. A little reminiscent of the whole thing had a scene between Roger and Florence, when the two try to indulge in their own way of passion: The effort is certainly present, but rather the result of devastating …

After quite remarkable Noah Baumbach The Squid and the Whale / The Squid and the Whale, this film is a rather botched work, the date marks the low point of this year’s competition at the Berlinale. This is particularly regrettable since Ben Stiller here finally allowed to play a more nuanced role away from the all too familiar slapstick comedies. Because of the more than meager script but this is unlikely to mark the transition into something more serious subject. Pity really …
