China Blue

‘Stinginess is cool “- a motto that has long been branded as the credo of the modern consumer firmly in the minds of every consumer. But as the products from the Far East, the force in Europe en masse flooding the market and so many operating in this country with unbeatable low prices in the knees, properly made? Be honest: Actually, we already know, the conditions under which the clothes manufactured in Asian sweatshops, the information is freely available, just admit we do not want it.

The American cinematographer and director Micha X. Peled has gone in his film China Blue in search of clues and uncovered the Fadenabschneiderin Jasmine, who works in a sewing factory in southern China. The working conditions are catastrophic: Up to twenty hours a day takes a layer, and a work week, not five but seven days, so that leisure is not simply exist. All this for a salary of sixty dollars a month, which will be deducted from the costs associated with accommodation, food and hot water. Rest periods are a scientific word for Jasmine and her colleagues, but when one of the women’s fights against the Ausbetung, they have their jobs go fast because the next few workers willing to wait outside the door. For the women of the textile factory Lifeng this job, the only way to misery and grinding poverty is to escape, while others reap fat profit margins.

Micha X. Peled limited his documentary to talk to his impressions and observations of everyday life in one of the innumerable plants alone for themselves. And he does well. Anyone who has eyes to see, ears to hear, and feel a heart to at whose expense we all live and how a growing part of our goods is made, the cold packs the sheer horror and disgust. And anyone who after seeing the film still safely reaches for cheap goods from the Far East, the help is not really. But probably the majority of the population will only wake up when Hollywood turns to the dark side of globalization, and shows in a multimillion-dollar production, such as Bruce Willis and Harrison Ford enslaved factory workers in China (played by Gong Li, Ziyi Zhang and Bai Ling ) release. I for one am waiting for this movie. But wait that long this work nor would permit China Blue is without doubt one of the best and most moving films on the topic.
