”5 x Favela, agora Por Nos Mesmos” is an episodic film that has been developed exclusively by young residents of favelas in Rio de Janeiro. 2009, more than 200 young people participated in workshops in which the foundations were in various aspects of filmmaking from teachers such as Nelson Pereira dos Santos, Ruy Guerra, Fernando Meirelles and Walter Salles taught. 84 young people finally cooperated with the filming in July and August 2009. Thus arose five episodes that deal with various aspects of life in the favelas, but not, as is usual in such films to make the violence prevailing theme.
