Mainstream pop, shiny high-rise building facades, a luxury shopping mall. Completing the city panorama with two blondes and a small set of street hockey on record. Of course, the fun is soon over, of course, the two girls prove that they can survive in a totally new situation. The typical situation for one geared to a mass audience American children’s film: nice, clean and so good that not even the worthy aunt may echauffieren. She even once had to the target group of history, for the stressed modern opening scene introduces the filming of a possible old-fashioned children’s book series. Director Christine Hartmann, the first filmed adventures of twin sisters Hanni & Nanni, provided by the British children’s author Enid Blyton landed an international success, in contemporary dress. The lively Hanni (Julia Munster) and her shy twin sister, Nannie (Sophia Cathedral) pushes their sneaky hockey team-mate Octavia (Emilie Kundrun) a piece of clothing in the bag and thus a shoplifting in the shoes. The parents (Heino Ferch, Anja Kling) send the twins after the girls’ boarding Lindenhof. Here are the tricks of the confusingly similar to the strict deputy head girl found Mägerlein (Suzanne of Borsody), headmistress Theobald (Hannelore Elsner), and the classmates plenty of confusion. On the hockey pitch change Hanni and Nanni their pink jerseys against blue sports shirts. The film world is rosy, however. Among the motley mirth hides irrelevance. The triviality of Blyton series of children drive the scriptwriters Katharina Reschke and Jane Ainscough on the top. The characters live removed from everyday problems. Apparently Father Sullivan is right when he proclaimed, “cookbook translator was” a gap in the market. Where else would the money for the generous apartment of the Sullivans, the iPod, laptop and an elite boarding school, all times two, of course? Lindenhof is a perfection in its repulsive, while enticing microcosm, where there is always sunshine. The rain, which receives the twins is, there almost like a farewell to the normal weather conditions. All are good people in Linden, whether at first or second glance. Imperfect children are probably so little left to the school like cheap plastic chairs. On the other hand the rebels “good taste” Mrs Theobald. The boarding students are sitting on old wooden benches, somewhere in the clouds. Scolds Miss Mägerlein, it was not charity, is the abgeschmettert. For an orphan at Lindenhof pays the school fees mysteriously itself Increases will last even if the threat of ruin. Generous donors are always found at the last second. It’s worth just to invest in education – at least the future elite mothers. Normal children are there in Hanni & Nanni not really ever come before any children. Christine Hartmann’s family film shows adults in miniature. Which of them is still not exemplary, it learns to be. You breath the big screen adaptation into the spirit of the books in which the girls embroider, sew and clean. Instead housewife girls are now Hannah Montana, Princess lilifee or the mixture of both, which are similar to the twins. Blonde, blue-eyed and full recall, Hanni and Nanni as their classmates of fashion dolls that are so decent, that they neither interfere with the school uniforms yet girls only classes. Boys are all stupid anyway, Hartmann seems to believe. Therefore, their heroines may be lucky to stay by idiots like the Dorfschönling, for an enthusiastic student who spared. In addition to poverty and decadence lock the walls of the school building from the impending puberty. Strictly sealed off the social universe available to the top. Many as six books to be, which in this well-ordered universe is simply too rich. Therefore, the Octavia has a rich brat negative stereotypes and pampered schemer embody. The artificial scenes are not only pointless, but treacherously: but he who does their hair in the beauty salon and truffle cream supplies, can still beat the luxury of Lindenhof. The superficial film adaptation surpasses the other hand, the book playfully referred to triviality. Already in the original was Hanni & Nanni for a female readership designed reading, the message itself instructive elementary school did not escape. The movie reminds tuned to do with him what they had with the books a long time to make discard. (Lida Bach)

               Ireland, racing, farm, Soapbox
Some children nowadays spend more time watching TV and computer than outside in nature. Not so in the eleven-year old Mary André F. Nebe’s debut film. He lets his protagonist as wild ride on the Irish country – in a home-made soap box and wants to incite children to think that there is something else than Playstation and the Internet. Mary (Niamh McGirr), red-haired, pale, freckles, lives on a lonely farm. For chickens and pigs, it has as little interest as their mother (Susan Lynch), who had a more glamorous life than that presented to a farmer’s wife. Mary’s father (Colm Meaney) is a farmer as he stands in the book: coarse, taciturn and full devotion to his job, which pays very little money and has earned him only a lot of debt. So frustrated as both parents, it’s no wonder that they fight only the mother and seeks her fortune with one another. , But it should go in the film only in passing to marital problems and the miserable situation of the Irish peasants. Rather, The Great Race a children’s film through the eyes of eleven year old Mary is told. That fact alone, everything is much more colorful, more poetic and less problematic. And as the title suggests, is the focus of a race, more a soapbox race, Mary is determined to win against a dozen boys. Alone the fact that a girl wants to join as is extraordinary and even then, Mary, who is teased by everyone. Their initial conditions are far from good: Your soap box is old and rickety, money for new wheels is missing and her father is against the company. But Mary is courageous, ambitious and convinced of their mission. The film and its end are as predictable as the Amen in church. And there are no more common formula, in the cinema than the weak to lay so many hurdles in the way and let him win in the end anyway. Nevertheless, one goes to the heart of the story. Niamh McGirr is especially touching spectacle. Your Mary is her first role on camera, before they have played in some theaters plcs. It is so convincing and carefree, just an ideal candidate. A bit of you wonder wonder why the director André F. Nebe Born Berlin, 1973, his first feature film with children and animals and also rotates with English actors in rainy Ireland. From just under four weeks of shooting and it has rained two of them continuously. How well that has previously Nebe spent a small fortune for rain gear and outdoor clothing. But he had the feeling of doing something meaningful, if he managed to tell later in the movie theater children a fascinating history – and he has succeeded. (Katrin Knauth)

Ponyo

Ponyo

Genre: Animation, Adventure Movie, Family Movie
Princess, fairy tales, sorcerers, sea, fish
It does not have his computer: With technology, the Japanese cartoon classic Hayao Miyazaki created a fairytale world that is in front of big productions like Avatar or Alice in Wonderland does not need to hide. On the contrary, the color and shapes, who have crafted the animators of Studio Ghibli here to the canvas, has a “real” than some creature owes her life to a computing machine. Ponyo – The great adventure on the sea / Gake no ue no Ponyo is a film for children and adults. And not only in the sense that adults have in the adventures of two five-year old fun. Director Miyazaki has woven actually two movies in one. One of them tells a story suitable for children in remote based on Hans Christian Andersen The little mermaid. The other way of association to reflect on what goes wrong in the human world. And this is more questions than answers. Philosophical, ecological, and psychodynamic issues. The small Ponyo is a goldfish girl who lives with his father and many siblings in the sea. Ponyo Actually, it lacks nothing, after all, her father, the stern magician Fujimoto, a powerful man but he frighten off Ponyos mother, the goddess of compassion. She no longer lives with the family. Whether out of a sense of lack or out of pure curiosity – one day books from Ponyo. This is a dangerous adventure. Ponyo ends up half dead on a beach, where they found the five year old Sosuke. From one second to the other Ponyo wants only one thing: Stay At Sosuke and a real human being with arms and legs and all that entails. The problem is: During the transition from fish to humans has released Ponyo magical powers of enormous destructive power. The sea is raging, threatening huge tsunami waves to drown like all of humanity. And no one knows how the whole thing is connected. While the children are offered in the auditorium chair an adventure may be the older viewers are looking forward to a representation of the sea, as it is sensuous hardly conceivable. Hayao Miyazaki has great opera and ballet at the same time. As choreographed as the jellyfish float across the screen, dancing swarms of fish develop their splendor. The sea is becoming the actors and provides links to streams of thought that do not need firm ground under their feet, but may be carried away easily. That nature strikes back, when a man robbed her something like, one come to mind. Or the thought of the psychological dimension of what grows under the surface. But the brooding about the fateful separation of magic from the rational, of instinct and intellect. The film is open to many interpretations – Friends of the Opera will certainly discover further allusions. In any case, the metaphor of the sea invites one to plunge into the depths. This must be one not. On the surface this film is life as varied and diverse. This is perhaps the greatest achievement of the director: the shallow currents of the deeper waters to flow into each other can be so elegant that the whole is a lively bubbling stream remains. Tomasso Before he knows it is suddenly and head of Papa’s favorite new pasta factory, while his friend impatiently waiting for his return to Rome. Ferzan Ozpetek’s new film VAGANTI Mine is at first sight an almost typical Italian family film. From patriarchial-conservative father, who are always on harmony thoughtful mother, alcoholic aunt and grandmother all the way to cynical here. Only one is different. The two young sons are not the biggest womanizer of the village. And that’s especially the father to create quite a bit. Although the film lightly and incredibly charming, therefore, comes, but he treats a serious subject. In a country like Italy, where Catholicism and machismo are still widespread, homosexuals do not have it easy. Mine VAGANTI creates here a little enlightenment. No, to be gay is not curable and it is not the end of the world, even when tears are all the village’s mouth. What is more important – and this applies in this movie not only for the queer characters, but especially for the women of the family – you have to emancipate themselves and free themselves from the shackles of tradition and social rules, if you will be happy. Ozpetek family constellation is one in which everyone adheres to the rules and has either been lost or obstructed. The announcement at the dinner table that her son is gay is only a drop in the barrel brings to the final overflow and is a painful but important process of awakening in motion. This shows Ozpetek his family opera in beautiful, sun-drenched paintings, externalize the desire and the longing of the individual characters. Sometimes he combines in his paintings and contemporary events of the past family history and can it in with two of his imagery to tell stories that are related to each other with respect. Particularly successful is his use of humor, which is never thoughtless and crude, but highly sensitive. VAGANTI Mine is great Italian cinema. Melancholy and funny to equal the film tells a great family story that is old and new at the same time and makes it a loving piece of intelligence work – not only for the Italian society. La nostra vita

La nostra vita

           La nostra vita
               Genre: Drama
Friendship, family relationship, pregnancy, construction workers, justice, Cannes 2010
It starts like one of those harmless family film. The love between Claudio (Elio Germano) and his pregnant wife Elena (Isabella Ragonese) appears so great that one suspects quickly – which can not long be well. And indeed, at the birth of her third son Vasco Elena dies from the effects of undefined and unexpected complications, and so Claudio is alone with his three sons before the ruins of his life. But instead of falling into mourning, he pushes aside all thought of it and instead seeks salvation in the work. When he learns that he has been at one construction site, which he supervised as polishing, a fatal accident involving a Romanian security guard, he sees his chance and his boss is under pressure, either made him a subcontractor for its own account or Claudio reports the death of the police and the site is closed. What are the widower has not thought of – as a subcontractor, he must go into huge financial input. And that’s what it overwhelmed pretty quickly, since reserve he has as good as any. But fortunately there’s his siblings and his neighbor and friend Ari … If you have thought after the beginning of La nostra vita, see below Now a similar story as Antonello Grimaldi, 2008 at the Berlin International Film Competition accrued Silent Chaos / Caos calmo, looked disappointed fast. For instead of at Grimaldi’s film ubiquitous sadness and lethargy after the death of his wife, to Claudio escapes into the work and pushed all thoughts of the loss. Definitely a strategy to deal with a loss. The problem with this film is that he follows his main characters and unconditionally all the questions about the emotional tracks, which leaves the trauma fades completely. All of two scenes must be sufficient to order something to say about the mood of the two great brothers of Vasco, more space is not given to this issue. And who is really responsible for the children when Claudio once again pushes overtime in construction, one can also conjecture. Instead, the film is dedicated to the extensively not really compelling subplot of the unfortunate Romanian security guard whose wife and son eventually play in Claudio’s life, although a significant but not necessarily convincing role. At the end says Daniele Luchetti cuddle actually the miraculous in the common resolution of almost all painstakingly established and then found later in criminally neglected emotional conflicts to have. The bedroom, previously reserved for the parents, is now a playground for the family without a mother that has bitten through despite all odds. But it remains the case even at the end: held real sorrow, or even the rudimentary attempt to work through the trauma of loss, have not in Claudio’s life nor Daniele Luchettis film, so you wonder does not need that, among the very subdued applause some quite loud disapproval mixed. One is inclined to join the merciless verdict of so to expression colleagues. (Joachim Kurz)

The Three Investigators were yesterday, the Tiger Team is today. Equipped with laptops, MP3 players and smart as junior detectives (including the girl’s release rate), the three teens tricky cases in which it also is ever dangerous. The literature of the Austrian Thomas Brezina complex and was shot with a star cast of Peter Gersina. The school holidays have just started, and the three young detectives bored almost to death. That should change soon, for when they encounter a mysterious key in dragon form, their research lead directly to China to the moon palace, is framed by centuries-old myth. The three are the series heroes of child crime series Tiger Team, consisting of Biggi (Helena Siegmund-Schultze), which as a female counterpart in this detective club not get the shy role to play, but this is Patrick (Bruno Schubert) responsible for the in dangerous situations ever, the knees are shaking. Luk (Justus Kammerer), however, is the technical and can crack the trio girl’s heart beat faster. With his freckles and the smart smile in no time he seduces the audience, and he is also clever at that. He is also the one who discovers an Internet connection from the key to Chinese myth, and with a little trick, the trio invited to a trip to China, where they visit under the guise of a Pandafarm chasing the missing two keys. You are not the only dragon hunters, but the diabolical Q (Iris Berben) and her no less diabolical son Munroe (Stipe Erceg) are also resources on the search for those keys that allow them entry to the moon palace and thus immense, too. Q has done especially the elixir of eternal life, which is among the treasure goods. Now begins a race with time, and the little detectives are exposed to many dangers, but they cope brilliantly. It finally comes to the final battle between the kids and the malignant Q, there is indeed the elixir in his hands, and could thus have a peace … (Was #) is selected that Peter Gersina calculated the Tiger Team – The mountain of a thousand dragons from the large number of these series to the film, does not seem surprising, since the land of the rising sun, the popularity of children’s thrillers by Thomas Brezina is still well before Harry Potter. Very complicated and with lots of special effects he has taken on the topic, what about some hinweghilft representational weakness of the young actors. In contrast, Iris Berben in the role of Q is a true revelation, which is a whole new shows as incredibly bad side. As she looks into the camera demonic, threatened the children and are eccentric Ausraster the best, is fantastic. Even Stipe Erceg as her loyal son who loses battle with so many children is considered to be amusing. How the movie, overall points out that all the actors a lot of fun with must have had three, who plays, among other things on the Great Wall, cuddly panda bear has as extras, designed exciting and to play in the hearts of children of today. The glitches in the presentation of Helena Siegmund-Schultze, Justus Kammerer Bruno Schubert and you forget for even a quick, and above all the Telegenität of Justus aka Luk can go up to the viewer’s heart.
